Frequently asked questions
What percentage do no win no fee solicitors take?
The success fee is capped by law at 25% of the compensation awarded for your injury and past losses. It cannot be deducted from damages awarded for future care or future financial losses.
Is the 25% taken from all of my compensation?
No. The 25% cap applies only to general damages (for the injury) and past financial losses. Compensation for future losses is protected from the success fee deduction.
Can I be charged more than 25%?
For standard personal injury claims under a CFA, the success fee taken from your damages is capped at 25% including VAT. Your solicitor should also recover their basic costs from the losing side, separately from this.
